innovation in project-based firms
innovation in project-based firms
Project-based firms (PBFs) considers projects embedded in an organizational network and institutional context. PBFs organize their structures, strategies and capabilities around the needs of projects, which often cut across conventional industrial and firm boundaries. Several authors indicate the difficulty of transferring knowledge in projects due to a short-term perspective and a fluctuating workforce, moreover project-based organizing often lacks incentives and formal structures for cross-project learning. We perform research on governance mechanisms and knowledge transfer in cooperative innovation projects in which several organizations cooperate to develop a new product/service.
